TALLAHASSEE, FL – Today, prominent civil rights attorney and small businessman, Daryl Parks announced that his campaign to defeat Corey Simon has been highlighted as a top Florida target for the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC).  The DLCC is the national official arm of the Democratic Party focused on building democratic wins at the state level. 

Their support of Parks indicates growing enthusiasm for Democrats across this district and the resonance of the harm caused by Simon’s support for a Republican agenda that has resulted in North Florida families having fewer freedoms and rising costs for insurance, healthcare, groceries and defunded public schools while millions are spent on tax giveaways to wealthy corporations. 

The DLCC’s support comes as Parks has raised more than $1.9 million for the cycle to date, with over $570,000 of that coming in the month of October so far and donations from over 2,600 unique donors with an overwhelming majority in donations of fewer than $100.

Families are fed up with seeing their costs rise while wealthy corporations receive millions in tax giveaways. They don’t understand the GOP obsession with culture wars while Florida becomes a more and more unaffordable state due to rising insurance, healthcare and housing costs. And they really don’t understand why politicians like Corey Simon would be silent on all these issues while voting to take away their freedoms on reproductive rights and defunding public schools by hundreds of millions of dollars.Working families have had enough and they know that change starts with firing Corey Simon. ”
