Today, the Daryl Parks campaign released the following statement in response to a despicable, false and misleading attack ad from Corey Simon.   

“Corey Simon can’t win on the issues and is clearly trying to hide his record with disgusting race-baiting lies,” said Parks. “This latest round of lies from Corey is vile and divisive, falsely alleging I’ve profited from anti-semitism, when in fact my record and advocacy with and on behalf of my Jewish brothers and sisters could not be more clear. I’ve supported and traveled to Israel with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). I’ve always stood with the Jewish community, which is why prominent Jewish leaders have endorsed our campaign. 

“What is truly sad and pitiful about Corey is that, just this past weekend, violent White Supremacist Nazis marched through downtown Tallahassee, right up to the steps of the Capitol, where Corey works. He didn’t say a word. Not a peep came out of him about their vicious racist views, just like how he hasn’t said a word about the assault on religious freedoms he has voted for.”

“Corey doesn’t realize that all his lies about me do nothing to erase the harm he has caused North Florida families. Healthcare, housing and insurance all cost more because of Corey Simon. Corey’s pride and joy school voucher bill is literally bankrupting the state and defunding North Florida schools at the same time. Corey knows he can’t win telling the truth about his sorry record, so he’s lying about me. Here’s the truth – Corey Simon is exactly what’s wrong with our so-called leadership in the Capitol and it’s time for him to go.”

Parks has been endorsed by prominent Jewish leaders throughout the state. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said the following:

“Daryl Parks is a friend, and a leader who never hesitates to confront racist and antisemitic individuals and groups. The dishonest ad that his opponent just released in this race is as disturbing as it is false. Daryl is and has always been a strong supporter of the Jewish community, with real, meaningful relationships and it’s one of the main reasons I strongly endorsed him.”

Parks has been a community leader, advocate, and outspoken voice for change for nearly 30 years. As a State Senator, Parks will prioritize fighting to lower costs for hardworking families, expanding access to quality affordable healthcare, ensuring women can make their own healthcare decisions and reversing the impacts of extreme policies supported by Simon that have prioritized culture wars ahead of the everyday needs and rising costs that are squeezing working families.
