Daryl Parks Announces $800,000 Raised, Significantly Outraises Opponent For July

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Today, prominent civil rights attorney Daryl Parks announced his campaign has raised over $800,000, including significantly outraising Corey Simon in the month of July with $140,853 raised. Simon reported raising $51,950 in July, with nearly a third of those funds coming from insurance companies and their allies and adding to the more than $400,000 Simon has collected from the insurance industry.

“While Corey Simon says he stands for working families, the numbers don’t lie,” said Parks. “Corey Simon continues to make clear that his top priority is protecting the insurance companies bankrolling his campaign, while hardworking North Floridians fight skyrocketing costs. It’s time we had leadership representing us that knows how to put the culture wars aside and instead focus on making sure hardworking families can keep more of the money they earn in their pockets.”

Since announcing his campaign for State Senate in April, Parks has raised more than $800,000. Parks has been a community leader, advocate, and outspoken voice for change for nearly 30 years. As a State Senator, Parks will prioritize fighting to lower costs for hardworking families, expanding access to quality affordable healthcare, ensuring women can make their own healthcare decisions and reversing the impacts of policies passed by Simon, which defunded Florida’s public schools by $900 million.

“Hardworking families deserve a government that fights for them. Corey Simon has used his position to pass laws that attack the freedoms, families and finances of North Floridians – like taking millions of dollars out of our public schools,” Parks said. “North Florida needs action now. Families want a champion who will speak up and fight for them. Corey Simon has proven that he clearly is not ready to help hard working people. He ‘talks’ about solutions, but Senator Simon is clearly THE PROBLEM and it’s time for him to go.”
