As a native Floridian, I care deeply about protecting what makes Florida special – our diverse ecosystems, rivers, shoreline, and springs. I strongly oppose the State of Florida’s proposal to drill for oil in the Apalachicola River floodplain and have called for a complete ban on any and all drilling in North Florida.

Millions of Floridians’ taxpayer dollars have been invested in maintaining and restoring North Florida’s waterways – protecting our way of life and promoting the growth of oyster beds to restore Apalachicola Bay to its previous wonder. In the Florida Senate, I will fight to protect all of our waterways and make sure North Florida’s natural resources are preserved for generations to come.
