New Daryl Parks Campaign Ad Sets Record Straight On Corey Simon’s Abortion Record
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Today, the Daryl Parks campaign released a new ad entitled “Terrifying”, which sets the record straight on Corey Simon’s anti-abortion access record despite his many attempts to mislead voters on the issue. The ad’s release coincides with the launch of a new website, NoChoiceCorey.com, where North Florida families can learn more about Simon’s dangerous anti-abortion rights record.
“The real truth about Corey Simon and abortion rights is terrifying,” the ad states in part. “He voted for a bill that would ban all abortions and classify them as murder. He voted to take away rights for rape and incest victims. He voted to let the government track women’s pregnancies…No matter what Corey says, the facts say it all. He’s a danger to Florida families.”
The ad’s full text and background on Simon’s anti-abortion rights record can be found below.
NoChoiceCorey.com further tells the truth about Simon’s anti-abortion rights record and lists out stories from Florida women who faced life threatening challenges when they had difficulty accessing abortion care due to policies like those supported by Simon.
“This year, No Choice Corey voted to allow women to be sued for receiving abortion care – at any week of pregnancy,” the website reads. “A bill so extreme, one of his Republican colleagues crossed the aisle to vote against it.”
In response, Parks released the following statement:
“Corey Simon has shown time and again he’s not going to be honest with voters about his shameful and dangerous anti-abortion rights record. We are going to ensure that Corey doesn’t get a free pass no matter how many times he lies and misleads voters about his support for taking away women’s fundamental freedoms and putting their lives in danger. Corey lacks the courage to stand up for a woman’s right to make her own health care choices, which makes the choice in this election so much more clear. Corey Simon has to go.”
Parks has been a community leader, advocate, and outspoken voice for change for nearly 30 years. As a State Senator, Parks will prioritize fighting to lower costs for hardworking families, expanding access to quality affordable healthcare, ensuring women can make their own healthcare decisions and reversing the impacts of extreme policies supported by Simon that have prioritized culture wars ahead of the everyday needs and rising costs that are squeezing working families.

BACKGROUND ON COREY SIMON’S ANTI-ABORTION RIGHTS RECORD:
In 2022, Simon said he supported the 15 week abortion ban in effect at that time. [Florida Politics, 10/3/22]
- Simon voted NO on Senator Tracie Davis’ amendment to the 6 week abortion ban, to reduce its restrictions on women struggling with fatal fetal abnormalities, unsuccessful pregnancies, and miscarriages. [FLSenate.gov, SB300 Amendment 970730, 3/30/24]
- Simon voted YES on SB476 in the Senate Fiscal Policy Committee hearing. [FLSenate.gov, SB476, 2/15/24]
- This bill is titled “Civil Liability For The Wrongful Death of an Unborn Child”. However, reproductive health care advocates raised concerns before and during the committee hearing that this bill would establish “fetal personhood” and could ban all abortions in Florida, with no exceptions. [Florida Phoenix, 2/15/24]
- Allowing for lawsuits against those who have received an abortion also allows for the criminalization of abortion and government tracking of pregnancies.
- These concerns caused one Republican Senator, Alexis Calatayud, to vote against the measure at this hearing. The Senate did not hear the bill again after this committee vote. [FLSenate.gov, SB476 Vote Count, 2/15/24]
- This week, Simon confirmed he supports a 15 week abortion ban and will be voting against Amendment 4. [Tallahassee, Democrat, 9/8/24]
- Full quote from the News Service of Florida: “Simon said he intends to vote against what will appear as Amendment 4 on the ballot, saying it also goes “too far.” The measure says, in part, that no “law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.”
